Artisan Hut was founded in February 2002 by Monju Haque Who believes that fair/ethical trade can play a vital role to reduce the poverty levels of Bangladesh. Artisan Hut is specialized in hand weaving, creating unique and exclusive ethical women's wear and home textiles. We are focused on fair trade and environmental preservation. Our throws and cushion covers are woven with handlooms using organic cotton yarns, to create unique and eco-friendly products. In line with our commitment to being socially and environmentally responsible, Artisan Hut is in the process of becoming a WFTO Guaranteed Fair Trade Company. Our mission is to reduce poverty through fair trade business development and economic independence and to increase the standards of living of disadvantaged people in Bangladesh.

Hand loom production saved 1 ton of carbon a year, using LED lights in tailoring and everywhere to use less energy.
Use azo free dyes and OEKO TEX certified dying of yarns.
Recycling & Waste:
Waste fabric is recycled to make duvet filling.
We use GOTS Certified organic cotton yarn and dyeing and we are working on building a certified supply chain.
We are able to make our clothing PETA approved content as per buyers requirements.
We are a provisional member of WFTO, and a member of national fair trade forum.
Decent Working Conditions:
Artisan Hut follows the WFTO 10 principles of fair trade. They pay a living wage to all workers, provide benefits such as provident fund (savings scheme), medical support, interest free loan, women's empowerment schemes.
Supporting Traditional Skills:
Our production using hand-looms preserves and celebrates Hand weaving using traditional methods and techniques. Workers are able to double their income by using their traditional hand weaving, block printing and hand embroidery
Living Wages is provided to all artisans except hand embroidery artisans. They are getting minimum wages now.
We try to utilize 100% of the raw materials. Fabric waste is used to make table placemats, coasters & runners and used as mattress filling.
We always prefer eco-friendly & sustainable raw materials for producing our clothing for saving the environment & Earth. This includes; organic cotton, regenerated fiber, banana fiber, jute fiber etc.
